Celebrating International Women’s Day: Showcasing Female-Led Businesses at The Langham Estate

As the world celebrates International Women’s Day, we are very proud of the collection of female-led businesses, across multiple sectors, that we have curated here at The Langham Estate..

From the art world, the area is home to Gillian Jason Gallery, the first and only gallery in the UK focused on solely championing female-identifying artists promoting an intersectional approach to feminism and women’s art. The neighbourhood also houses Shtager&Sch founded by Marina Shtager to establish creative bridges and sustain dialogue between Eastern Europe and international artistic practices.

Highly successful restaurants with pioneering female Chefs are prevalent here - with Angelica Hope leading the kitchen of modern British fine dining restaurant Portland Restaurant and Adejojké Bakaré founding West African restaurant Chishuru. After being awarded a Michelin star last month, Bakaré is the first black female chef to have received the illustrious award.

Arlettie Paris, the home of designer sample sales, was co-founded by Muriel Lanneau who found inspiration from the women she sees daily of all styles, backgrounds of ages and now delivers the most exclusive sample sales for women’s luxury and fashion brands. Founded by Margaret Howell CBE, the British contemporary clothing brand Margaret Howell Limited can also be found on the Estate, where it is known for its high-quality materials and timeless designs.
