Open Call: Studio Residency

Studio Residency Open Call

The Langham Estate is inviting six artists to a studio residency at 53 Great Portland Street in Fitzrovia Quarter, central London, from June to November 2026. This new residency will transform currently unoccupied space awaiting refurbishment in the heart of an active artistic community.

Artists attending the residency will be invited to respond to the theme of ‘What Holds Us Together’, drawing inspiration from Fitzrovia’s diverse patchwork of intersecting communities and histories.

Studio spaces will be offered free of charge to artists who need workspace in London, at any stage of their career. Applications are open until 15 May. Successful applicants will be notified on the w/c 25 May and are expected to begin their residency by 30 June.

This new opportunity builds upon the launch of The Langham Estate’s arts and culture programme for Fitzrovia Quarter in 2025, which saw the delivery of a new permanent mural on Mortimer Street, commissioned via an open competition, and a group exhibition at 55 Eastcastle Street. Fitzrovia Quarter presents: The Artist’s Corner was a collective effort on the part of Fitzrovia Quarter’s creative communities, designed to foster community and to support and champion emerging artists.
