Game on
Katie Paterson, 100 Billion Suns, 2011
Following a comprehensive refurbishment, Haunch of Venison will open a new gallery space of approximately 2,800 sq ft at 51 Eastcastle Street, in an area known historically for its artist communities and in recent years, home to a number of significant contemporary art galleries.
Haunch of Venison supports and presents the work of some of today’s leading artists, presenting a broad and critically acclaimed program of exhibitions to a large public through international exhibition spaces in London and New York.
Named after the London courtyard in which the original gallery space was opened, Haunch of Venison was founded in 2002 and is now part of Christie’s International PLC. Key international artists the gallery works with include Ahmed Alsoudani, Enrico Castellani, Leon Ferrari, Thomas Heatherwick, Jitish Kallat, Richard Long, Patricia Piccinini, Joana Vasconcelos, Tom Wesselmann, and Uwe Wittwer.
Haunch of Venison is delighted to announce it will be working with several new artists in 2012. Nancy Holt, Katie Paterson, Giuseppe Penone and Justin Mortimer will all hold solo exhibitions with the London gallery for the first time, presenting new projects or work not seen in the UK before.
