Middle Eastern restaurant operator Honey & Co, winner of Observer Food Monthly Award for best newcomer 2013, currently based in Warren Street, have expanded their restaurant empire with the acquisition of a second restaurant of 2,900 sq ft over ground floor and
basement at 216 Great Portland Street on The Langham Estate.
The husband and wife team, Itamar Srulovich and Sarit Packer, previously head chef at Ottolenghi and executive chef at Nopi respectively, have developed a restaurant producing a fantastic selection of all manner of mezze and pickles, fresh salads and slow stews, dumplings and cordials, cherry-picked from Packer and Srulovich’s native Israel, the Arab Levant (Lebanon, Syria, Jordan) and further afield in Iraq, Iran and the Maghreb.
In addition to the restaurant, Itamar and Sarit have written two award-winning cook books – *Winners of the Jeremy Round Award for Best First Food Book at the Guild of Food Writers Awards* *Fortnum & Mason Food & Drink Awards Cookery Book of the Year 2015* *Sunday Times Food Book of the Year 2014*.
Great Portland Street is fast becoming a foodie destination with an eclectic mix of international restaurants, with Honey & Co joining Iberica, Villandry, Portland, and Wahaca to name but a few.
